Cars that are introduced in Europe or Asia frequently don't arrive in the United States until the next model year.

The Ford Kuga, however, is a unique exception to this rule. The crossover, known as the Escape in America, underwent a facelift in late 2022.

However, it took nearly two years for the European market's Kuga, which goes on sale this month, to get the identical cosmetic update.

The car's redesigned grille, headlights, bumper, and hood give it a boxier, more SUV-like appearance that feels more in line

with contemporary trends but lessens the car's familial resemblance to the Focus hatchback.

For example, the leading edge of the hood now has a light bar that crosses the top of the headlamp and provides the vehicle a more forceful look.
